Ana Gomes, DNP, PMHNP-BC, RN
Ana has been a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since June of 2018 who has worked in various settings consisting of seasonal, residential, outpatient, inpatient , and government facilities. Ana treats psychiatric patients across the lifespan with complex mood and anxiety disorders, comorbid substance use disorders, dual diagnosis, eating disorders, psychosis and PTSD. She is fluent in English and Portuguese, intermediate in Spanish, and shares a passion for global public health and disaster medicine, which assists her in treating a diverse clientele. Ana places emphasis on treating the whole person by incorporating a holistic approach to treatment with psychopharmacology.
She attended Salem State University where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in chemistry. While pursuing this degree, she began her medical career working as a CNA at Lahey Burlington where she fell in love with nursing. Ana proceeded to attend Regis College after graduation to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017, graduating with honors. She received a Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2018, graduating with honors.
While practicing as a PMHNP on the North Shore, she continued education to pursue a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions with her capstone being focused on a mobile health application for self-care. Ana graduated with honors in 2020.
