Winston M. Clarke has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Biology from the State University of New York at New Paltz (SUNY New Paltz). While completing his Master’s Degree at New Paltz, he received special studies in public health at Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. He also has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, where he specialized in clinical mental health and substance abuse. He also has expertise in counseling people who struggle with HIV and AIDS issues.

In the early 1990s, Winston received crisis management and suicidality training at Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center in Columbia, Maryland. Also during the early 1990s, he worked at the Maryland Mass Transit Administration. His mandate was to streamline the Maryland Mass Transit disability pass system to expedite the process of granting passes to people with disabilities. The overarching goal was to place the Maryland Mass Transit Administration in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1992.

Winston has helped individuals with behavioral health concerns, chemical substance use issues, including co-occurring disorders, and HIV and AIDS issues in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient programs, day hospitals, and the prison system. Further, he has worked with adults, teenagers, children, the geriatric population, and the LGBTQ community.

Winston believes that his broad-based clinical skills and experience enable him to help people with disabilities reach their individual next level and make their lives a little better. His sole internally driven force is empathy.
